Guild Rules and Procedures
The Gadgetzan Brewing Co has prided itself on being a friendly, family oriented guild. Most of the time, rules are not even needed (or are often bent or broken) in order to maintain this happy atmosphere. However, boundaries need to be set to be used as a reference and a guide just in case.

Just bear in mind that some of these rules are fluid and can be ignored at times and some are strong as oak. Only an established, mature member will be able to tell the differences.

Forum, Guild Chat, and Teamspeak
All members of the guild are required to have a forum account. The forum is used for many announcements that the leadership wishes to be available to all members, online at the time of the announcement or not. The forum is also used to sign up for instance runs (see below). For the most part, the forum is used for general chatter and fun that is unique to our guild.

The in-game guild chat is a far more used means of socializing for the guild. Keep in mind however, that some members may be in a group and that useless or excessive chatter may disturb them. If another member reminds you to keep your chatter to a minimum, take their advice. The guild chat is NOT a trade channel - do not announce items you have for sale. Exceptions may occur for certain trade or rare items, but if it becomes excessive, you may be reminded of this rule.

Teamspeak is our voice chat system, information for accessing it is below. There is a set number of slots for the server, and as our guild grows the number of available slots will also grow. However, because of that, during instance runs or raids, members participating will have first priority to the server.
--Any member using the server MUST use a Push-to-talk key. We do not need to hear you sneeze or talking to your family.
--Because of the adult nature of our guild, teamspeak access to children is restricted.

Posting or saying anything deemed incredibly offensive, such as a racial, ethnic, or religious slur, is grounds for immediate removal from the guild. It's advised that you pretty much steer clear of any topic that may offend (religion, politics, etc.) or take it to a private channel.

Ranks
The guild has a ranking system that is more or less just to establish who is more helpful or more senior in our little club. There are times when rank comes into play, and for those, read the below sections.

Please note: Ever asking to be promoted is a GUARANTEE that you will not be.

Drunk - This is a new member of the guild. The definition of new is different for our guild though. New is not necessarily a measure of time, but how well we know you. You could be a member for over a month, but if you never talk or participate - or if you're never on - you will most likely remain at this rank. The main question a Drunk member needs to ask themselves is "Does the guild know who I am?"

Janitor - This rank is for Alt characters of Brewers and above only.

Brewer - This is the meat of the guild. These are people that have proven themselves to be mature, active, and assets to the guild. This group will hold the most members, some may even spend their entire career here.

Bouncer - These are exceptional members of the guild. These are the people that have proven themselves to be extreme assets to the guild consistently in any number of ways, including: Going out of their way to help, participation in guild events, trade items, advice, etc. It is very important that people realize this rank is not simply a time-earned title, but a performance-earned one. This member has access to the Supervisor's forum.

Bartender - Officer of the guild, well proven in every area of activity. Like any organization, there are very few people at the top, and only those most deserving will be there. This member can kick out members for rule violations and has access to the Supervisor's forum.

Barkeep - The leader.

Recruiting
In order to join the guild, a new member must be at least level 15. This is to try and keep the guild full of active players, and not a person who just makes character after character.

Drunks may not have alt characters in the guild. Only Brewers and above, and a person can only have one alt in the guild.

Do not spam recruiting messages in a General chat channel. We are a small, exclusive guild that prides itself on staying that way. Recruiting is done on a personal invitation basis, and not as an overall announcement to the masses. Keep recruiting as exclusive as it needs to be in order to maintain the high quality membership we have.

Activity
Activity is the primary reason someone will be demoted or removed from the guild. The proper way to give prior notice of an absense is to speak to a Bouncer or above and make sure that the absense is put in your Officer Notes on your player profile.

If a Drunk is gone for 14 days without first having spoken to a bouncer or officer, they will be removed from the guild.

If a Brewer is gone for 14 days without notice, they will be demoted to Drunk, and at 21 days will be removed from the guild.

If a Bouncer is gone for 1 month (excused or not), they will be demoted to Brewer.

Any member (excluding alts) who is away from the game for 2 months - excused or not - will be removed from the guild. They are always welcome back when they find more time to play, however we do not want to clutter the roster with inactive members.

Raids
Guild raids are to be closely guarded secrets. Do not speak about the raid to outsiders prior to the raid - feel free to brag afterwards however. The more people who are aware of the raid, the more likely it is that the Alliance will find out about it and muster a quick defense. So for security purposes, please keep information on when and where to yourself. If a member is found to compromise the security of a raid, they will be removed from the guild.

Guild raids are to be participated in by guild members only. Exceptions will be made by the Barkeep in the case of an Ambassador from another guild - however, these people will be chosen in advance by the Barkeep only. Do not invite your friends to join in on the fun. If they want in on a raid, tell them to join the guild. However, the potential abuse of this rule is high, so no person can join the guild and participate in a raid on the same day. If someone is found to abuse this rule - the referring member will be punished.

The requirements for each raid will be posted on the forum at the same time as the time and place. Some raids will require higher or lower levels. Do not be discouraged if you don't meet the requirements for a raid - and do not beg to be included anyway. The requirements are set for the good of the raid, and having a low level attacking guards 20 levels above them will do no help.

Dungeon Runs
Dungeon runs will be scheduled much like a raid, giving plenty of advanced notice for members to sign up. As our members know, we pride ourselves on being a friendly guild with flexible rules. However, because of the rarity and competitiveness of some items in high-level instances, some of these rules will be strictly adhered to.

Some guilds have established complicated point systems, also known as DKP, in order to determine some of the things that will be outlined in our rules. Because of the general atmosphere of our guild, it is the leadership's determination that an elaborate system like this is not necessary - this may change if problems arise.

--It is REQUIRED that a member wishing to go on a scheduled dungeon run post in that topic on the forum. Do not think that because you told an officer that you wish to go that you are guaranteed a spot. You must post on the forum.
--If the dungeon has a limited number of available slots - Stratholme for example is capped at five - than the first five members to post on the forum will be the ones to go. If more than five people sign up, first-timers of that dungeon will have priority.

--If a recipe or trade good drops, characters of that profession have need-roll priority on that item - you may not need-roll for an item for an alt if a character of that profession is present in the group.
--If a class specific item drops, characters of that class have need-roll priority on that item - you may not need-roll for an item for an alt if a character of that class is in the group.
--If you are going to the dungeon in search of an item for a Raid Set or other rare or important purpose, you are REQUIRED to post for it on the forum. Only a member who has said they want an item on the forum PRIOR to entering the dungeon may need-roll for that item. If more than one member has stated prior claim to an item, they will both need-roll it, and the losing member(s) will have SOLE NEED-ROLL priority on the item during the next run for the dungeon.
--Because of the sensitive nature of some of these items, members at the rank of Drunk may not roll against a full member for these items.

Abuse of any of these rules will cause you to be kicked out of the guild. Remember, it is just a game, and while most of our members are quite fair and mature, for some reason an item with a purple name turns us all into demons. These rules, especially those concerning roll priority, will be strictly enforced.
